In this press type garbage truck for performing inversive, squashing, compressive, and cramming actions by the actions of sliding and pushing plates 10 and 15 to stow refuse charged in a refuse charging box 6 into a garbage storing box 3 auxiliary plates 20 are provided oscillation freely before and behind on the garbage pushing surface 151 of the plate 15, are provided on sitions where the oscillation centers 20a of the plates 20 are decentered on the surface 151 side from the oscillation center position 15a of the plate 15, are oscillated forward from the surface 151 at the rime of the inversive action of the plate 15, and are arranged on the surface 151 side by the inversive action at the time of the squashing action of the plate 15, to vary the inversive action speed of the plates 20.
