PURPOSE: To obtain the title adsorbent which is little in temp. dependency and excellently adsorbs even low-concn. gaseous ammonia by sticking calcium chloride on activated carbon as the gaseous ammonia adsorbent.
CONSTITUTION: As an adsorbent removing odor of gaseous ammonia especially incorporated in a gas phase, calcium chloride is stuck on activated carbon by such a method that activated carbon is immersed in a calcium chloride aq. soln. Gaseous ammonia is easily desorbed by heating the activated carbon stuck with calcium chloride in which gaseous ammonia has been adsorbed at about 100W150°C. This adsorbent excellently adsorbs even low-concn. gaseous ammonia and is inexpensive and safe. Further temp. dependency of adsorption capacity is little and regeneration capacity is large.
