PURPOSE: To smooth and speed up the gate control system.

CONSTITUTION: A 1st gate 10 is provided with three gates 10a-10c side by side and three 2nd gates 20a-20c are arranged side by side at a distance L4 from the 1st gate 10. The 1st gate 10 has a 1st information processing part 11 which reads information out of a user's card and writes passage information and the 2nd gates 20 have 2nd information processing parts 21 which read passage information and write the information on user's cards and entrance/exit permission/rejection parts 22 which control the passage of users. If a user 31 is inhibited from passing through the 2nd gate 20b, a following user 32 speedily moves to another 2nd gate 20 (as shown by B or C in the figure), so that the following user can pass through the 2nd gate 20a or 20c.
