To provide gaze with a handle having sufficient strength, properly flexible feeling and excellent liquid absorptive property and easy inhandleability, consisting of a woven and knitted composite non-woven sheet where fibers constituting a non-woven fabric are substantially entangled and integrated with each other and by constituting a handle part by a part of a slender main body.
One sheet of a plain weave fabric woven by spun yarn consisting of cotton and one piece of X-ray pick-up string consisting of filament yarn with 0.7 mm diameter are held among three sheets of a non-woven fabric consisting of a viscose rayon thread of 30 g/m2 Metsuke, for example. It is laid on a 20-mesh net and is entangled by a 55 kgf/cm2-columnar water flow. After the obtained sheet is slit by 30 cm width, the sheet with 30 cm×30 cm- dimension is obtained by using a sheet cutter. Then, a notch with about 1 cm- width and about 28 cm-length is made by using a punching machine to prepare gauze with a handle. The gauze is used for medical purpose and is provided with a satisfactory physical property as the evaluation result. Especially, liquid absorptive performance is improved.
