Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure present strength level, while satisfying an allowable shaft angle θ, make a backlash δ small to prevent the chattering and the whirling vibration caused by the backlash, and reduce the vibration and noise in no-load or low load.
SOLUTION: This gear-shaped flexible shaft coupling for connecting two opposite shafts located on an approximately common axis, applies external gears 3a, 4a having the extern tooth shape which satisfies that a point of inflection 11 of a circular arc R1 of a center of tooth width forming pitch circle curves of the external gears 3a, 4a formed by plural circular arcs, and a circular arc R2 continued to the circular arc R1 is located near by the center of tooth width, and a ratio (2a/c) of the circular arc R1 with respect to the tooth width (c) is reduced.
