Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tracking processor and a processing method in which the track keeping performance can be enhanced under unwanted signal environment while keeping the size of a gate at a track keeping level.
SOLUTION: The tracking processor comprises a means 1 for calculating a prediction vector and a prediction error covariance matrix based on the theorem of Kalman filter, an element 2 for delaying the prediction vector and the prediction error covariance matrix by 1 sampling, means 3 for calculating a gate size for maximizing the difference of number between target signals and unwanted signals in a gate, means 4 for making a decision whether an observation vector exists in the gate or not, a smoothing means 5 for integrating a gain matrix, a smoothed vector, and a smoothed error covariance matrix while weighting through the use of observation vector and prediction vector in the gate, an observing means 6 for inputting a target search probability calculated based on the signal/noise ratio, an erroneous alarm probability of unwanted signal, an observation error and an observation vector to a gate decision means, and a means 7 for displaying the smoothed position.
