Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glassine paper excellent in transparency and productivity.SOLUTION: There are provided glassine paper of a basis weight of 20.0 g/mto 50.0 g/m, comprising pulp having been beaten to have freeness of 50 to 400 ml and cationized starch powder with its aqueous solution containing a solid component in an amount of 10.0% having a viscosity at 25°C of 30 to 20000 mPa s, and a method of producing the same. The mass ratio of [cationized starch powder]:[pulp] is 0.5:99.5 to 6.5:93.5 in the above described base paper. The opacity of the glassine paper is not higher than 20.0%. The method of producing the glassine paper comprises a step of preparing base paper from slurry comprising pulp and cationized starch, a step of drying the base paper until its moisture content becomes less than 10.0% and winding up the dried base paper, a step of causing the base paper to contain moisture in an amount of 14.0 to 30.0% and a step of smoothing the resulting paper by heating and pressing the same at a temperature of 50 to 140°C and at a total linear pressure of 200 to 6000 kg/cm so that the basis weight thereof becomes 20.0 g/mto 50.0 g/m.SELECTED DRAWING: None
