PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a green algae modified strain that shows improvements in growth and material production such as fatty acid production, and a method for use thereof.SOLUTION: A green algae modified strain selected from the group consisting of LC1 strain (FERM BP-22277) and an induced strain thereof is cultured, and the obtained algal body is treated as appropriate, to produce fatty acid, fatty acid ester, sugar glycerol, or a combination thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: None
