A cover 12 exposed externally of an automobile in the forward direction, is made of a soft material, and a shock absorbing means 14 for absorbing a shock from the outside, is arranged so as to define a space for allowing the cover 12 to be deformed by an exerted impact force, between the sock absorbing means 14 and the cover 12. Thereby it is possible to advantageously exhibit a shock absorbing function through deformation of the cover 12 and a shock absorbing function through breakage of the shock absorbing means 14.
