In a hand cart 5 with brakes, a pair of right and left wheels 3 and 3 are fitted to the lower surface of a base 2 and a hand rod 4 for pushing is installed vertically on the upper surface of the base 2 at one side part. The brakes 6 and 6 are installed on right and left wheels 3 and 3, right and left operating levers 14 and 14 are disposed on the hand rod 4 so as to operate the brakes 6 and 6, and a lock mechanism is installed to hold the operating state of the brakes 6 and 6.
