To provide a heat exchanger capable of achieving miniaturization of the heat exchanger itself and heat exchange of a large quantity of heat by improving the efficiency of heat exchange; and to provide a suitable deodorizing and sterilizing device using the heat exchanger.
This heat exchanger comprises a pipe-like part 12 formed in a pipe-like shape, and heat exchanging fins 14a, 14b, 14c, 16a and 16b provided on the outside 12a and the inside 12b of the pipe-like part 12, and is formed of a metal material to execute heat exchange between gases such as air passing through the inside 12b and the outside 12a of the pipe-like part 12. In the heat exchanger, the pipe-like part 12 is formed into a cross-sectionally rectangular pipe-like shape; the respective inner corner parts of the pipe-like part 12 are each arranged in a rectangular empty space 19 surrounded by a plurality of heat-exchanging fins 14b and 16b arranged in the pipe-like part 12 by being shifted at 90° from each other; and the empty space 19 is formed throughout the total length of the pipe-like part 12.
