To improve the non-tacky adhesiveness of a separating pawl surface and to prevent toner adhesion and offset by forming the film of the separating pawl surface for peeling a sheet after fixing from the peripheral surface of a fixing roller of a specific mixed component fluororesin.
A transfer image is fixed in the nip part between a heat roller 8 and a pressurizing roller 9 and a transfer member is separated from a heat fixing roller 8 by the separating pawl 1. The film on the surface of the separating pawl 1 for peeling the sheet after fixing from the peripheral surface of the heat fixing roller 8 is formed of the mixed component fluororesin composed of a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer (PFA) and a tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer (FEP). The surface of the separating pawl 1 is coated with this film after mixing of PFA and FEP. PFA is otherwise adhered to the pawl and thereafter FEP is adhered thereto, following which the film is baked. As a result, the softening of PFA is prevented by the high heat resistance of PFA and the good tacky adhesiveness of FEP to toners is obtained.
