PURPOSE: To obtain high transfer density while preventing the heat fusion of an image pickup material and a dye donative material on heat transfer by composing an image pickup layer of a composition, in which a dye acceptable substance is dispersed in a water-soluble binder, and the co-dispersion matter of a silicone compound and a specific plasticizer being contained in an uppermost layer.

CONSTITUTION: An image pickup layer provided in a heat transfer image pickup material carries in a water-soluble binder a substance which in the case of printing, receives a heat migrating dye which migrates from a heat transfer dye donating material, and has a function of dying with the heat migrating dye. Various watersoluble polymers can be used as the water-soluble binder, and the water-soluble polymer having a group capable of conducting a crosslinking reaction by a hardener is particularly preferable. The co-dispersion matter of a silicone compound and a plasticizer having a [organic/inorganic] value of 1.5 or more is contained in the uppermost layer of the image-pickup surface forming layer of said image-pickup material. A compound having a siloxane bond in a molecule thereof is used as the silicone compound, and silicone oil is particularly preferable.
