Title:
HIGH PRESSURE SOLIDIFYING AND CASTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60152353
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the titled device which relieves temporarily an abrupt increase in the pressure acting on a molten metal by the constitution in which the molten metal supplied to a sprue is pressurized and packed via a gate into the cavity by a plunger and an air reservoir is formed in the recess provided to dies.

CONSTITUTION: A recess 21 is provided to a die 1 consisting of a lower die 2 and an upper die 3 of a high pressure solidifying and casting device consisting in forming a sprue 4, a cavity 5 and a gate 6 communicating the same to the die 1 and mounting a pipe 11 for supplying a molten metal, a plunger 15, a pressurizing punch 17, etc. A required core 10, an annular fiber molding F for reinforcement, etc. are disposed in the above-mentioned cavity 5 for forming a product and a molten metal M of an Al alloy, etc. is supplied via the pipe 11 from a hopper 12 into the sprue 4 and thereafter the die is sealed by a sealing plunger 13. The plunger 15 is then risen to pressurize and pack the molten metal M in the sprue 4 via the gate 6 into the cavity 5 and further the punch 17 is risen to pressurize additionally the molten metal. Part of the molten metal M intrudes into the above-mentioned recess 2 and forms an air reservoir thus relieving temporarily the pressure acting on the molten metal M and preventing formation of a flash, etc.
