To obtain a new compound useful as a fuel additive effective for preventing or controlling engine deposits, esp. inlet valve deposits.
This new compound of the formula (R1 is ≥40C alkyl; R2 and R3 are each H or a 1-2C alkyl; A is an amine component derived from ammonia, a 1-20C primary alkylmonoamine, 1-20C secondary dialkylmonoamine or 2-12C amine nitrogen and a 2-40C polyamine; (x) is 1-2; (y) is 5-50) is obtained by reaction of a highly long-chain alkylphenyl polyoxyalkylene alcohol with a nitrogen-contg. compound such as ammonia, a primary or secondary alkylmonoamine or polyamine. The other objective fuel composition as a fuel additive concentrated liquid can be prepared by incorporating 10-70wt.% of this new compound of the formula with an inert stable lipophilic organic solvent 150-400°F in boiling point.
