Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a controlled release formulations for oral administration having an acrylic polymer coating formed from an aqueous acrylic polymer suspension so that substantially stabilized solubilization profile may be obtained even under a variety of storage conditions.
CONSTITUTION: The base containing therapeutically active agents is coated with a water-based suspension of a plasticized acrylic polymer and the coated base is cured at a temperature that is higher than the glass transition point of the plasticized acrylic polymer until the coated base acquires highly stabilized dissolution profile which is hardly affected even under elevated temperature and/or elevated relative humidity conditions whereby the objective stabilized solid controlled release dosage form having a coating derived from an aqueous dispersion of an acrylic polymer is obtained.
