PURPOSE:To obtain the title article which contains a large number of fine voids and is light and highly rigid by attaching and fixing daughter particles to mother particles made of a resin having an m.p. different from that of a resin forming the daughter particles to form capsule particles, forming agglomerates from the capsule particles, melting one resin having a lower m.p. of the two resins, and molding the agglomerates. CONSTITUTION:Daughter particles 12 having a diameter of, e.g. 10mum or lower are attached and fixed to the surfaces of mother particles 11 having a diameter of, e.g. 100mum or lower and made of a resin having an m.p. different from that of a resin forming the daughter particles, giving capsule particles 10; the capsule particles 10 in a state of agglomerate are heated to a temp. at which the resin with a lower m.p., say, the resin of mother particles melt, and are molded; the molten mother particles 11 stick out through daughter particles 12 and adhere to each other, leaving voids 13, which have existed before the heating, unchanged; and thus a dense hollow molded plastic article 14 is pred. The voids reduce the wt. and apparent linear thermal expansion coefficient of the article, and give it soundproofing, pressure-resistant, heat- shielding, water-absorbing, water-repellent effect, etc., enabling it to be used in various applications.
