PURPOSE: To prevent the fire grate body from overheating and increase the stability of burning by providing a blow-by portion on a fire grate.
CONSTITUTION: A reverse flow burning type hot blast generating furnace is composed of a burning chamber 4 and a burning chamber 5 located respectively at the upper and lower side of the fire grate 3. A blow-by part 7 having a space B larger than a space A of the fire grate 3 located at just under an introducing port 2 is provided in said furnace. An introduced fuel 10 falls on the fire grate 3, accumulates in mountain shape, a burning primary air is blasted from a suction port 11 for the primary air, further, an adjusting primary air is blasted from a suction port 9 for the primary air according to the amount of burning. The volatile matter included in the fuel is gasified by the blasted primary air, then a generated flame is intrduced to the lower side of the fire grate 3 through the blow-by part 7 from the surface of the fuel 10, thus, the burning is finished in a burning chamber 5. On the other hand, an ember remaining on the fire grate 3 burns gradually, changes to an ash with sliding on an inclined surface 8 of the fire grate 3, finally, the ember is raked out from an ash removal port 12.
