Title:
HOT-MELT ADHESIVE POWDER DISPERSION, THERMAL ADHESIVE SHEET, INTERIOR MATERIAL, THERMOFORMABLE FIBROUS SHEET AND CARPET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3619714
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hot-melt adhesive powder dispersion in which a hot-melt adhesive powder hardly settles and which gives uniform-quality products by adding an acrylic copolymer of an alkali thickening type as a thickener to a dispersion prepared by dispersing a hot-melt adhesive powder in water.
SOLUTION: This hot-melt adhesive powder dispersion is prepared by dispersing 1-60 wt.% hot-melt adhesive powder comprising e.g. a polyolefin resin and having a particle size of 50-300 mesh and 0.1-10 wt.% acrylic copolymer [e.g. an ethyl acrylate/methacrylic acid (6/4) copolymer] emulsion in water and adding an alkali (e.g. ammonia) to the resultant dispersion to adjust the pH to 6-9 to thereby increase the viscosity at 25°C to 50-2,000 cP. If necessary, this dispersion is compounded with additives such as a surfactant an antioxidant, a filler and a softener, The dispersion is air-sprayed on one side of a substrate (e.g. a woven or nonwoven polyester fabric) in a coating wt. (solid basis) of 1-100 g/m2 and dried to give a thermal adhesive sheet.
