PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mortar reinforcer for repairing a high temperature furnace brick utilized for filling a gap due to the difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion between the metallic part of the mouth of a kiln and a firebrick, repairing a firebrick surface-deteriorated by its heat history and wear and filling a through hole, having high adhesiveness and exhibiting repair effect over a long period of time, to obtain a high temperature furnace brick repairing material and to provide a method for repairing a high temperature furnace brick.
SOLUTION: A slurried aqueous solution (mortar reinforcer) is obtained by mixing 100 pts.wt. aqueous solution having a composition, on the oxide basis, consisting of 0-5 wt.% SiO2, 3-15 wt.% R2O (R is one or more selected from Na, K and Li), 3-12 wt.% B2O3, 0.2-3 wt.% P2O5 and the balance water with 10-100 pts.wt. powdery composition consisting of ≥65 wt.% SiO2 and ≤35 wt.% one or more of compounds of Mg, Ca, Al, Fe, Ni, Ba, Sr, Zr, Ti, Pb and Zn (property modifier) and having 0. 2-100 μm particle diameter. Five to fifty pts.wt. of the slurried aqueous solution and an adequate amount of water are blended with 100 pts.wt. mortar and the resulting repairing material is hot-applied.
