To stabilize and maintain a welding state by avoiding or mitigating negative impact of collision with base material of a supplying wire in hot wire welding by introducing a mechanical method.
A hot wire welding device X for performing the method movably holds a wire torch 2 by installing an elastic slide mechanism S to a connection part 3 between a welding torch 1 and the wire torch 2. The elastic slide mechanism S, having a coil spring and other energizing means [not shown], carries out retreating operation of absorbing reaction force or impact load generated by the base material collision of an insufficiently-heated wire (W) and going away from the base material M by the reaction and elastic returning operation for returning to a home position after unloading. The wire torch 2 is made to respond thereby when the hard insufficiently-heated wire (W) goes into a molten pool P and collides with the base material so as to secure an appropriate melting state.
