Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the set time of a hydraulic cement composition at a low temp. without inducing or accelerating the corrosion of a steel made reinforcing material by consisting of a set accelerating agent component and a specific low molecular weight glycol component of the effective quantity.
CONSTITUTION: This admixture consists of the set accelerating agent component (a) and the 2-6C glycol (b) in the quantity effective to increase the set accelerating property of the set accelerating agent component. The admixture is remarkably effective to reduce the initial set time of a hydraulic cement, mortal, and concrete. As the component (a), an alkali metal salt, an alkaline earth metal salt or the mixture selts of an organic or inorganic acid, calcium nitrate, calcium nitrite or the mixture thereof are mentioned. And the glycol suitable to be used is ethylene glycol, propylene glycol and glycerol or the like.
