To provide a hydrotreatment method of wax, hydrotreating the wax on a fixed reaction conditions to efficiently obtain a middle distillate sufficiently decreased in normal paraffin content and to simultaneously obtain an undecomposed wax fraction sufficiently decreased in normal paraffin content.

The hydrotreatment method of wax comprises contacting, on a condition of 0.4-4.0 h-1 liquid hourly space velocity in a hydrogen atmosphre, the wax to the first catalyst 10 comprising an ultrastable Y type zeolite and an amorphous solid acid and, then, to the second catalyst 20 comprising practically no ultrastable Y type zeolite but an amorphous solid acid, so as to perform the hydrogenation treatment of the wax.
