Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: An oligonucleotide having a sequence of the formula.
USE: A probe for detecting virus belonging to Pestivirus.
PREPARATION: A region of about 110-115 bases situated towards the 5' end on the Pestivirus genome is amplified in a non-coding region corresponding to the region situated between bases 200 and 310 of the genome of the BVD Osloss virus by the use of a primer capable of hybridizing on both ends of the above non-coding region, the resulting amplified region is sequenced, and other varieties of Pestivirus previously sequenced are compared with similar regions to examine the homologous and/or specific sequences of the oligonucleotide, and the objective sequence is constructed.
