Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of a primary coil included in an ignition coil due to passage of an overcurrent.SOLUTION: An ignition control device includes: an ignition coil including a primary coil and a secondary coil; an anergy input part for inputting electric energy into the primary coil after starting the discharge of an ignition plug; an energy control part for controlling the electric energy to be input from the energy input part into the primary coil so that a secondary current flowing through the secondary coil maintains a target value; an acquisition part for acquiring at least one of an absolute value for the inclination of a change of the primary current in a period when the electric energy is input into the primary coil and a wiring temperature of the primary coil in a period when the electric energy is input into the primary coil; and an energy input prohibition part for, when at least one of the absolute value for the inclination of the change of the primary current and the wiring temperature is equal to or more than a threshold value corresponding thereto, prohibiting the input of the electric energy from the energy input part into the primary coil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
