To provide an image editing device practical and operable for an operator by solving problems possessed by manual and automatic operations of a conventional image editing device while enhancing the superiorities of the both.
The image editing device comprises a reading part 1 reading a document; an input image memory 21 storing read image data; a ruler line detection part 321 detecting ruler line information of an read image from the image data stored in the memory 21 and generating a list of ruler line information; a slip estimation part 322 estimating the kind of the document based on the list and specifying a cut position of the read image; an image editing part 323 cutting an outer frame part including the description of a blank part of the read image according to the estimated cut position, and editing so that a blank frame position in the center of the read image is located in the center of an output image; an output image memory 22 storing the edited image data; a recording part 6 printing the image data stored in the memory 22; and a communication part 7 transmitting it to the outside.
