PURPOSE: To provide an image filing device which can automatically generate a sort input form when the original of the document information is inputted end also can decrease the input operations.

CONSTITUTION: The sort information inputted previously by a sort input device 3 is stored in an image storage means 4. Then this sort information is printed by an image output means 6 for production of a sort information input form. A document input means 2 reads 8 document and the sort information out of the sort information input form and the original of the document information. Based on this read sort information, a sort recognizing means 5 extracts the stored sort information. Then the document information is stored in the means 4 in response to the extracted sort information. Therefore a central control means 1 extracts the sort information out of the means 4 and prints this information and the document information through the means 6.
