The image forming apparatus 100 includes: an image carrier rotatably supported by a rotary shaft fixed to a housing; an electrostatic latent image forming unit; a developing unit that forms a toner image by developing an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier; a transfer unit that transfers a toner image on the image carrier to a transfer body by using a transfer rotation body disposed opposite the image carrier; and a cleaning unit disposed substantially opposite to a developing device relative to the image carrier and having a cleaning member that removes toner remaining on the image carrier. The developer carrier and the cleaning member are connected by a connection member so as to substantially uniformly press the image carrier. The image carrier is disposed so as to be movable by the pressure of the developer carrier and cleaning member in an adjustment direction substantially orthogonal to a straight line connecting the rotation center of the transfer rotation body and the rotation center of the image carrier.
