A control unit 100 specifies an arrangement phase to start the formation of a next scheduled normal image via processing in steps S50, S60 and S10. The arrangement phase specified in Fig.5(B) is the arrangement phase of a normal image "9" as the ninth image. The control unit 100 determines that the arrangement phase is an origin arrangement phase 310, and determines to form, from the origin arrangement phase 310, the image for density correction in place of the normal image "9" as the ninth image. Thus, since the period of forming the image for density correction is postponed until the formation period of the normal image to be formed from the origin arrangement phase 310 has come, the non-image formation period without formation of the normal image is not generated.
