Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent a reduction in throughput as much as possible even when the image forming apparatus executes, during printing, control in which an electrical load is applied, such as drive of a motor and a staple operation.SOLUTION: When there is an excess period that is a period in which the total of a power predicted by power prediction means and a power stored in power storage means exceeds a predetermined power during continuous paper feed, an image forming apparatus adjusts power supply to a plurality of heating elements performed by an energization control unit so that, at least during the excess period, the total of a power supplied to the plurality of heating elements and the power stored in the power storage means does not exceed the predetermined power, and adjusts a conveyance interval so that, after the excess period, an increase in temperature to a target temperature of a plurality of heating areas by supplying a power in which the adjustment is cancelled to the plurality of heating elements is done before a recording material reaches an image heating unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
