To provide an image forming system improving the color reproducibility of an image outputted from an image outputting part.
When a master color copying machine (color copying machine 1) executes reading a prescribed number of times after executing the last calibration, a message indicating the necessity of executing calibration is displayed in an operating part 17 of the master color copying machine (color copying machine 1) or a slave color copying machine (color copying machine 2) to thereby execute periodical calibration, and the color reproducibility of a printed matter is always stabilized without depending upon a change in the lapse of time of reading performance or the like of an image forming device included in the image forming system. In addition, IEEE1394 or Ethernet is used for communication between color copying machines with each other to execute calibration without developing a new external interface for communication between color copying machines themselves.
