To correct a color shift with a printer used in printing for printing a photographed image by a simple color matching work.
A digital camera 1 has a test pattern for color matching 52. The test pattern 52 is sent to the printer 42 being an object of color matching so as to print it. A printed matter 44 obtained as a printing result is photographed by the digital camera 1. Thus, the image on which a color characteristic of the printer 42 is reflected is taken in. A table for comparing a test pattern on the image with the original test pattern 52 given to the printer 42 and correcting shift of the color characteristics of the digital camera 1 and the printer 42 is created. The photographed image is color-corrected by using the table in the digital camera 1 and the printer 42 prints it. Consequently, the sufficient printing result without color shift can be obtained.
