Abstract:
To provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a program for creating a highly accurate Trimap by using distance information acquired through photography using an image surface phase difference sensor.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: acquisition means that acquires a picked-up image and a plurality of parallax images created through photography using an image pickup device in which a plurality of photoelectric conversion units receiving light beams passing through different pupil partial areas of an imaging optical system are arranged; creation means that creates an image for background separation classifying an area of the picked-up image into a foreground area, a background area, and an unknown area based on distance distribution information obtained from the plurality of parallax images; and output means that outputs the picked-up image and the image for background separation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
