PURPOSE: To provide a device receiving information of plural images stored on a magnetic recording layer and a device storing an ID number on a film.
CONSTITUTION: This reader is provided with a photoelectric conversion means 21 which applies photoelectric conversion to image picked up on a film 52 having a magnetic recording section to output an electric image signal, a reproduction means 25 reproducing information stored in the magnetic recording section and outputting a reproduction signal, a display means 41, a control means 2, 40 outputting an image signal onto the display means 41, displaying plural images on the display means 41 in a thumb-nail way, providing the output of the reproduction signal onto the display means 41 so as to allow the display means 41 to display display information related to the reproduction signal. Furthermore, in the image reader on which a film 52 having a magnetic recording section is mounted, a recording means 25 recording recognition information of the film 52 onto the magnetic recording section is provided.
