Abstract:
To generate visible light and invisible light from a single light source.
A fluorescent lamp 20 comprises internal electrodes 23a, 23b and external electrodes 25a, 25b. Light to be generated when a power feeding circuit 30o is turned on for discharging between the external electrodes 25a, 25b, has strong visible rays and weak infrared rays. Light to be generated when a power feeding circuit 30i is turned on for discharging between the internal electrodes 23a, 23b, has strong infrared rays and weak visible rays. Therefore, the fluorescent lamp 20 includes a mode for reading utilizing visible rays and a mode for reading utilizing infrared rays. A lamp controller 41 selectively switches the light emitting mode of the fluorescent lamp 20.
