Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the recording reproducibility of a medium contrast image by correcting exposure intensity when image exposure is performed by respective recording elements according to the stored light intensity distribution of the optical recording elements.
CONSTITUTION: Gradation image data 86 for recording a medium contrast image is converted to gradation image data 89 in a light output correction table 81 on the basis of the light output correction table selecting signal outputted at every pixel by a light output correction table selecting means 2. Next, the gradation image data 89 subjected to light output correction is converted to the gradation image data 91 outputted to the respective optical recording elements in a light intensity distribution correction table 83 on the basis of the exposure intensity distribution correction table selecting signal 90 outputted from a light intensity distribution correction table selecting means 84 at every pixel. In an LED head, the respective optical recording elements are driven corresponding to the gradation image data 91 after correction at every image and the imagewise exposure to a photosensitive drum is performed.
