Digital image data are once fetched into an internal memory of a CPU 12 via a transmission control unit 112 and then sent to an HDTV input output device 16 and then stored in a frame memory 24. The device 16 reads out the digital image data stored in the memory 24 and converts them into analog image data and sends the converted data to a changeover device 22. In this case, the CPU 12 stores the received digital image data also to a storage device 15. Even when the digital image data having been stored in the memory 24 are lost due to any cause, the CPU 12 reads the image data in the storage device 15 and sends the data again to the device 16.
