Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a receiver to conduct automatic access control with respect to multimedia display according to the viewer selection access mode and access classification data. SOLUTION: A screening classification code SCC is imbeded in an audio visual material AVM transmitted to each subscriber home station. The screening classification code in the AVM stream identifies a type of contents succeeding thereto. A home station extracts the SCC and applies a screening criterion selected by the subscriber thereto. Then an audio, or a video or the both are displayed as a blank, or a final received frame is displayed, or fog conversion to the AVM stream is executed, or an audio part or a video part of the AVM stream or the both are controlled by the other method.
