To provide an imaging apparatus for appropriately performing centering related to camera shake correction in photographing of a moving image, and to provide an imaging method and a program thereof.
A digital camera 1 encodes an imaged moving image by an inter-frame prediction system to record it. A CCD base 19 drives CCD 11 within a prescribed movable range. A posture sensor 22 detects the movement of the digital camera 1 which is a blur factor of the moving image. A camera shake correction control section 21 derives a moving amount and a moving direction of the CCD 11 based on the movement which the posture sensor 22 detects. It is determined whether the movement by the moving amount is possible or not based on a position, the movable range, the moving amount and the moving direction of the CCD 11. When the CCD 11 can move, the CCD 11 is caused to move by the moving amount. When the CCD 11 cannot move, the CCD 11 is moved to a center position in the movable range at timing when the imaged image being a bi-directional prediction frame after compression by the inter-frame prediction system is photographed.
