Title:
INCLINATION AZIMUTH SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6363911
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify the apparatus, by detecting changes in the quantity of light with the movement of mercury. CONSTITUTION:Light radiated from a light source element 1 passes through a transparent capsule 5 sealed with a gas or a liquid 4 containing mercury 3 and reaches a light receiving element 2 as opposed thereto. The mercury 3 moves sensitively to the lowest position in the capsule 5 each time the direction of inclination changes, which blocks the path of the light from passing at the position where the mercury 3 exists. In this manner, the direction of inclination can be detected from an output difference in the element 2. To receive light alone passing through the capsule 5, the element 2 grasps the capsule 5 from above and below with an upper light shielding stationary case 6 and a base 7 to shield light from outside thereby enabling stable detection of azimuth. This permits detection with a simple apparatus.
