To provide an index data processing method for updating index information already stored in a database such as a document management server by using an application having a more efficient index processing function.

The method comprises a step of using a document management application for exporting an index structure of a specified folder on the database, document image data stored in the specified folder, index data coordinated with the document image data and a document ID for specifying the document image data in the database. It uses an index creating application for downloading the data exported in the step, managing the index data and the document image on the basis of the index structure and changing the index data in the database on the basis of the document ID exported in the step.
