To provide an ink composition having high gloss on glossy paper, having high color development even on plain paper and improving fixability while ensuring reliability of ink such as recovery properties of clogging and deposition property of ink, in magenta pigment ink.
The ink composition comprises at least a magenta pigment, a polymer dispersing the pigment into an ink composition, a water-insoluble vinyl polymer different from the polymer and water. The water-insoluble vinyl polymer is a polymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer composition containing [1] an aromatic vinyl monomer and [2] a monomer copolymerizable with the aromatic vinyl monomer and has ≤20°C lowest film-forming temperature and 30-70 nm average particle diameter of the water-insoluble vinyl polymer.
