PURPOSE: To provide an ink containing specific components, capable of forming an image on a material to be recorded having no ink absorbability, not blotting between printed ink, having excellent water resistance, light resistance and rubbing properties in a wet state of a recorded image.
CONSTITUTION: This ink comprises (A) a water-insoluble monomer to be solidified by energy application (e.g. a polyester acrylate containing an acrylic ester at the molecular chain end of a polyester which comprises a dibasic acid and a dihydric alcohol and has 500-3,000 molecular weight), (B) a solvent to dissolve the component A (preferably a water-soluble solvent such as methanol), (C) water, (D) a recording agent (preferably an aqueous pigment dispersion) and (E) a solidification starting agent (e.g. photoinitiator such as acetophenone). The aqueous pigment dispersion is generally obtained by adding pigment to an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble resin, an amine and water, stirring and dispersing. In order to improve solubility of the water-soluble resin, the ink is preferably adjusted to pH7 to 10.
