Title:
INK-JET PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3667473
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up printing, by simultaneously forming each of dots belonging to a column corresponding to dots within a constant pitch so that the dots can be simultaneously printed in a column direction, increasing a count of ink-jet nozzles to be arranged in the column direction, increasing a rotational speed of a drum and making a rotational speed of the ink-jet nozzles constant.
SOLUTION: Each color nozzle unit 200C is synchronously reciprocated in a row direction (axial direction of a drum) by a constant pitch PT1 (e.g. 1/75inch). During the first half of the reciprocation, all dots I/N in the row are simultaneously printed to a printing medium with the use of an ink-jet nozzle 207 (207a1-207d2) arranged in the row direction. While the drum rotates once, each color nozzle unit 200C simultaneously prints each of dots (e.g. 3000 dots) belonging to a column corresponding to dots of the constant pitch PT1 with the use of both the ink-jet nozzle 207 arranged in the row direction with the constant pitch PT1 and the ink-jet nozzle 207 arranged in the column direction with a constant pitch PT2.
