PURPOSE: To improve quality of printing by producing an ink meniscus in each of a plurality of orifices being arranged in array in an electrostatic attraction- type ink jet printer wherein an outer electrode is placed at a position facing a printer head wherein an inner electrode is provided in the orifice and an ink drop is jetted onto a recording medium from an orifice by an electrostatic attraction caused by the electric field energized by these outer and inner electrodes.

CONSTITUTION: An ink chamber 35 communicating with each of a plurality of orifices 34 is formed and a vibrational membrane 41 is formed as a part of the inner wall face of each of these ink chambers 35 and a vibrational mechanism 49 compressing the ink 53 is provided on this vibrational membrane 41.
