PURPOSE: To obtain an ink supply equipment which can supply ink of high viscosity smoothly to a printing plate of a plate cylinder and enables selection of either printing of ordinary quality wherein overall uniform printing with a keyless ink supply is conducted or printing of high quality or spot one wherein section printing with a nonkeyless ink supply is conducted, on the basis of the smooth supply of the ink.
CONSTITUTION: In a process of an ink supply, ink of high viscosity is compressed and broken up repeatedly by an external force by providing a metering roller 3 having a higher rotational peripheral velocity than the one of a fountain roller 2 in proximity to this roller, with a second gap 21 therebetween, for the ink led out downward from inside an ink fountain 1 through a first gap by the fountain roller, or other means. Thereby the fluidity of the ink is made high temporarily, and by correlative operations of a means for regulating the first gap of the ink fountain and of switchover of a means for contact or rotary contact of a doctor means with the metering roller 3, both printings in a keyless ink supply mode and a nonkeyless ink supply mode can be conducted selectively.
