To enable a user to operate an on-hand input device without averting the visual line from a display surface of car navigation equipment performing processing assigned to one of input keys when a firm press signal indicative of determining the selection of one input key is inputted from a remote controller.
When the car navigation equipment receives a signal indicative of touching the finger of the user on one of the keys on the remote controller, the car navigation equipment causes a display done by a separate program to be toned down and causes a display key in the same arrangement as that of the remote control to be displayed in such a way that the display key is superimposed on the separate toned-down display. Furthermore, a portion corresponding to the arrangement of the one input key is highlighted.
