To provide an insert liner member capable of preventing defaults such as breaking, a lack and a crack which are caused when cutting a cylinder for finishing from remaining on a product.
An insert liner member 1 is inserted in order to form a cylinder liner when casting a cylinder block, and after inserted, it is formed into the cylinder liner by cutting the inner wall of a cylinder for finishing. The end portion of a cylinder head side of the insert liner member 1 is formed so as to have the outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter r of the cylinder, and is made to be a thin wall portion 2 which is to be disappeared by finish machining, and a weak portion 2a is provided of which the outer diameter is smaller than the other portion of the thin wall portion 2 at the opposite end of the cylinder head of the thin wall portion 2.
