Title:
INSERT MOLDED ITEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3667471
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved mechanical strength and heat shock resistance by insert molding a resin comprising polybutylene terephthalate and containing a specific quantity of specific polytetramethylene glycol as a copolymer component, and a metal or inorganic solid.
SOLUTION: Polybutylene terephthalate(PBT) having intrinsic viscosity of 1.15dl/g is prepared by copolymerizing 10wt.% of polytetramethylene glycol having weight-average molecular weight of 1000, and 49wt.% of the polybutylene terephthalate, 21wt.% of PBT homopolymer having intrinsic viscosity of 0.85dl/g, and 30wt.% of glass fiber are mixed together to prepare a mixture, which mixture is melted, kneaded, and extruded at 260°C by means of a 35mm twin- screw extruder to provide pellets. The pellets are insert molded using a prism- shaped steel.
