Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the activity of acidic carboxypeptidase in a specimen by a simple operation quickly and in high sensitivity without dialyzing and removing an amino acid even in the specimen containing the acidic carboxypeptidase in which the amino acid exists.
SOLUTION: A specimen containing an acidic carboxy peptidase is mixed with a peptide of the formula R-X-Y (in the formula, R is an amino end protecting group; X is one or more amino acid residues; Y is a carboxy end amino acid residue) as a substrate. The amount of the amino acid liberated from the carboxy end of the substrate by the action of the acidic carboxy peptidase is determined by an enzyme method to measure the activity of the acidic carboxypeptidase.
